New Junior Cycle

The Junior Cycle of Post-Primary education in Ireland is changing. From 2014, the new junior cycle will feature newly developed subjects and short courses, a focus on literacy, numeracy and key skills, and new approaches of assessment and reporting. In John the Baptist C.S., we are embracing this exciting time in Education.

Exceptional, Above Expectations, In line with Expectations, Yet to meet Expectations.

Summative Assessment (S.A)

Distinction(90-100), Higher Merit(75-90), Merit (55-75), Achieved (40-55), Partially Achieved (20-40) Not Graded (0-20)

The school has closed for two days in the academic year 2017/2018 to up skill on all aspects of the New Junior Cycle, ensuring that our staff is fully abreast and comfortable of all the many changes that are underway.
