BT Young Scientist Competition

The school's budding scientists presented an array of fascinating projects at this year's BT Young Scientist Competition held in the RDS, Dublin, from the 9th to the 12th of January.

Kate Passmore invesigated whether or not there is a telepathic link between twins. Cliona McCarthy and Ciaráin Cooke designed a device which prevents dirt entering milking clusters during the milking process. Tadhg Leddin and Fearghal Cooke looked at the effects of colours, sounds and music on cows. The students and their teachers, Ms. Marian O'Gorman, Mr. Kevin Buckley and Ms. Michelle Buckley thoroughly enjoyed the entire event, and attracted attention from a large number of people, including the Taoiseach, Enda Kenny and the Farmer's Journal. A number of other students went to support all the competitors. Congratulations to all the participants, their teachers and their families.
