Distance Learning

John the Baptist Community School, like all other schools in Ireland, has returned to distance learning or remote teaching. We would love to have students and staff back in school but at the moment it is safer to be at home and mind all of our families and communities. Distance learning will involve an exciting blend of online classes, recorded sessions, posted class materials and many other digital learning opportunities to make sure you have a balanced experience. Each of your teachers will go through the 5Ws and 1H of what your distance learning experience will look like in their class.

It is very important that students engage in all aspects of your digital learning  and all students are asked to read and agree to our Digital Learning Charter. This has been shared through our Year hubs and outlines what students need to do to get the very most from their online learning experience, as well as informing them about many important things that will help in the next few weeks.

The below diagram is to help students understand what is expected in any live class.

We ask all students to review your digital school bag on the school website which has lots of videos to help you – https://johnthebaptistcs.ie/information/student-information/digital-school-bag/

If a student cannot remember their password or needs it to be reset, please email info@johnthebaptistcs.ie.

Good luck and if you have any questions, please contact your teacher through Teams, your Year Head, Senior Management, any member of the Guidance Department or the Digital Learning Team.

Parents/guardians may find the following infographic helpful also as they support their online learning:
