Health, Fitness and Wellbeing Week 2022

It is that time of year again, with the halls and pitches of John the Baptist C.S. coming alive to the sounds of the the annual Health, Fitness and Wellbeing week 2022. With activities planned across all years, watch this space to see some of the exciting things that happen throughout this excellent week, coordinated by our wonderful PE Department!

Monday

JTBCS Health & Fitness week 2022 gets off to an exciting start! Well done to TY A who proved to be the strongest class today, winning the battle of the TY classes Tug O War this afternoon as a part of health & fitness week in the school!

Tuesday

Great fun on Tuesday for the 1st & 2nd Year sports day for our health & fitness week. A host of track and field events plus the ever popular old favourite, the three- legged race!

Furthermore, our wonderful Home Economics Department, together with 2nd Year and Third Year students provided an array of healthy nutritious snacks for their sports day. First Years also created a lovely poster to be used at the healthy eating stand.

Wednesday

It was jersey day at JTBCS today in aid of Irish Guide Dogs for the Blind. All classes completed a 2km walking challenge, 5th & 6th year lunchtime soccer continues while LCA 1’s did a skipathon during PE class, all for health & fitness week! Many thanks to Shane Ryan, former student and Paralympian, who visited the school today to raise awareness and to encourage all to donate to this worthy cause! Pictured with one of his many fans, current student student Cian.
