The school uses a lot of online platforms and resources to help students learn at home. Students will find a lot of videos to help their online experience at https://johnthebaptistcs.ie/information/student-information/digital-school-bag/
Please note that all systems are accessible using a mobile phone and a range of other devices. A laptop/desktop is not required.
Microsoft Office 365
Our main learning system/platform is Microsoft 365. This gives every single students access to the entire Microsoft suite/collection of apps and programmes including Word, Excel and PowerPoint which can all be used online or downloaded to a computer.
Accessing your Office.com Account
Your Password & Logging In:
All students and teachers in John the Baptist C.S. have an Office account. If you have lost or forgotten your email address or you password, please email one of the following for your account to be reset:
- Ms. Hayes: rhayes@johnthebaptistcs.ie
- Mr. Stack: pstack@johnthebaptistcs.ie
- Mr. O’Connor: joconnor@johnthebaptistcs.ie
The password must be reset by a school administrator only for security reasons.
For first log in/after the password has been reset, students will be given a temporary password. The student will asked to put in a new password that is known only to them. They will be asked to put this in twice to make sure the system knows it properly. If they are logging in for the first time/resetting, please have students think about their password. It should have a capital letter, a lower case letter, a number and a symbol e.g. School123!
Please keep the password safe and private. The school will never see this private password to protect their data protection so it will have to be completely reset if it is lost.
Please see below for a step by step guide to logging in, either for the first time or if your password has been reset:

Using the System:
When logged in, students will see a new page with some symbols to help them find their way through the system:
It might look a little different on a phone. Students should see their name in the top right hand corner.
Some on the following are the key apps/symbols that students should know:
Outlook
Outlook is where students can find all their emails and notifications. This is the student’s school email and should only be used for school work.
OneDrive
OneDrive is, in its simplest form, an online location for students to save their files and documents.
Teams
Teams is where students can engage with classes and materials from their teachers. Students are added automatically by their teachers under specific Teams – in other words, class groupings.
Please see below lots of videos created by our teachers to help students all different aspects of working with Teams:
- Finding the Office website and Microsoft Teams
- How to access a team and how to see files teachers have put up (for students)
