Munster Schools Track and Field

Well done to the six athletes that represented the school in the Munster Schools Track and Field in C.I.T at the weekend. In the May sunshine in Cork our students Ran, Jumped and Threw themselves into medal contention and taking home two golds, a silver and a bronze.

There were excellent performances form Sean Kirschner in the Long Jump, Lorcan Ryans in the Shot Putt and Patrick Holian in the 1500m. On the day we had two stand out performers.  Rory Prenderville won the gold medal in the intermediate boys and also taking home  bronze in the 800m in an extremely fast race. Geoffrey Joy O’Regan reached for the stars in the junior boys High Jump, not only did he win the gold medal but also broke the Munster record and equaled the All-Ireland Record. Our medal count is wrapped up by Caitlin Kennedy who took silver in the intermediate girls High Jump .
Caitlin, Geoffrey and Rory now go on to represent the school in the All Ireland in Tullamore in two weeks time. Best of Luck.
