Other Areas of Learning – Junior Cycle 2026

Dear Parent/Guardian of 3^rd Year students,

On completion of the Junior Cycle 2026 your son/daughter will receive a JCPA (Junior Cycle Profile of Achievement). It will contain:

1. Their state exam results

2. The results/descriptors for completed Classroom Based Assessment/s

3.Information on ‘Other Areas of Learning’ undertaken during 1st, 2nd and 3rd year in school.

4. Information on Wellbeing.

The ‘Other Areas of Learning’ must be provided by the student. The student must provide 3 statements on Other Areas of Learning.

“OALs record student achievement, involvement, and participation across a broad range of areas of learning through in-school activities in Junior Cycle. Outside of school activities are not allowed to be considered in the JCPA”

There CSPE teachers will be working with the students to help them to complete these over the next few weeks. The students are required to complete an MS Forms which will be available on the on the 3^rd Year Student Hub from Friday 27th April. The deadline for completion is Thursday 17^th April 2026 @9am.
