Science Week – ESERO Space Careers Roadshow

Well done to all who took place in the virtual ESERO Space Careers Roadshow celebrating Space Week 2020. This exciting event featured a host of those working in this exciting, dynamic field and certainly fuelled the imagination of the Transition Years who logged in to view and interact with the speakers and activities!

This event was the brainchild of ESERO Ireland and CIT Blackrock Castle Observatory, in conjunction with Science Foundation Ireland, and space industry partners. This Space Careers event provided students with an excellent opportunity to engage with space industry professionals, and third level institutions, so that they can get a taste of the exciting opportunities that a STEM career in the space sector has to offer. The roadshow showcased the incredible diversity of careers that are available in the space industry. Astronauts, scientists, engineers, artists, and countless other professionals illustrated what their dream job entails, and the path students can take to follow in their footsteps. Satellites Improve Life was the theme for World Space Week 2020 and this Careers Roadshow took a special look at our oldest and most constant satellite…The Moon.

Many thanks to Mr. O’Donoghue and Mr. Stack for organising the event. To infinity and beyond!
