Senior County Hurling Title for JBCS!

Our Senior Hurlers brought back John the Baptist Community School’s first ever senior hurling title on Friday 24th April. After eighty minutes of tremendous hurling our boys finally defeated a hugely motivated and determined Desmond College side on a scoreline of 26 points to 1-19. Star of the show was county minor Kyle Dillon who accumulated a hugely impressive tally of eighteen points (he even had room to miss a penalty!). Kyle was ably assisted by his County teammates Michael Bourke and David Hannon whose talents became more conspicuous as the game progressed. The most satisfying aspect of the victory was to see our students finally awarded with a county hurling trophy. Particularly our Sixth year students Colin Ryan, Gary McCarthy, Niall Kearney, Robert  Lonergan, Alan O’Riordan, Aaron Nelligen, James O’Regan, Aaron O’Sullivan, Jack O’Mullane, Ger Quinlan, David Ryan, Christopher Coughlan and Colm Nicholl. All these students have represented the school with huge integrity and splendid skill throughout their time with us, and this trophy was most deserving.  Well done lads and to their trainers S. Ryan and C. O'Sullivan.
