Congratulations to the Street Performance and their mentor Don MacGabhann who had a hugely successful day in Limerick’s St. Patrick’s Day Parade. Their entry “Fish ‘n’ Ships – More Fish and Less Ships” (tackling the issue of industrial overfishing) was stunning as it ‘swam’ through the streets of the county’s principle city, watched by an estimated 70,000 spectators in the welcome sunshine.

It was a hugely colourful and energetic presentation, incorporating huge fish, the God Neptune and a very impressive dragon, all performed to the music of “The Little Mermaid”, “Jaws” and “The A-Team”.

It is not surprising that the group was awarded the “Martin Folan Most Creative Entry” award from the 68 floats that took part and even featured on the 6 o’clock RTE news. There will an official presentation of the award in the coming weeks. Well done to all involved.
