The Zambia Intercultural Youth Project

The Zambia Project

In May 2017, two teachers Caoimh Ryan, Suzanne Mortell and five students from John the Baptist Community School Hospital Co. Limerick will travel to Zambia, South Africa. The students, Eva Butler, Eadaoin Power Gallagher, Anna Rose Kennedy, Maeve Barry and Laura Morrissey will undertake a journey of learning under the auspices of Alan Kerins in partnership with Gorta Self Help Africa and the Presentation Sisters as participants of the ‘ Intercultural Youth Programme’. The students along with their teachers will have the opportunity to enhance their knowledge of community needs, collaborate within team projects and explore global issues. The principal aim of the project is to make a significant impact on the area and to empower communities to shape their future.

We are looking forward to uniting and creating new relationships between John the Baptist C.S, the Presentation Sisters Zambia and the Presentation sisters Hospital. As a group we have planned various fundraising events scheduled to take place throughout the year.
