Winning Artistic Ways!

Well done to Ms. Ryan and her wonderful Junior artists whose piece called Illuminated memory bubbles  has been selected as the winner in the Munster Post-Primary School Category of the Jack B. Yeats: Painting and Memory Schools Competition. Congratulations to everyone for their amazing artwork about our community, it’s history, traditions, folklore, sport and what makes it special. Judging of the competition took place on Thursday, 13 January. It was a difficult decision for the judges to make as the standard was so high. They were very impressed with the research, work and creativity that was put into each artwork. Competition results will be announced on the National Gallery of Ireland website next week.

The prize includes:

  • Voucher for transport costs to visit the Gallery, with activity included. Or an artist-led workshop in your school.
  • Art materials.
  • Framed reproduction of a work by Jack B. Yeats to hang in the classroom.

The class’s artwork will also feature on the National Gallery of Ireland’s website and social media channels.

Well done to all involved.
