On April 23rd, a very exciting artistic endeavour has been organised by two of JTBCS’s teachers, Ms. C. Ryan and Ms. S. Mortell – a charity art auction! In aid of the Zambia Intercultural Youth Project, which will see five students travelling to Zambia with Ms. Ryan and Ms. Mortell in the coming weeks, this event sees a huge variety of renowned artists’ pieces up for purchase in Shannon Rowing Club next Sunday. Viewing of the impressive selection of works, which include a personlised book of poetry from Brendan Kennelly, as well as intricate works from John Shinnors, Nuala O’Sullivan, Gerry O’Mahony, Robert Ryan and Dieter Blodau, to name but a few, will take place from 3:00-4:00pm. The auction will take place at 4:00pm, with packs available on the day at this cash only event. We wish everyone involved the very best of luck and we encourage all to go along and support this very worthy cause, while grabbing a wonderful piece of art!
